The 2019 Ford Focus ST comes with a manual and automatic transmission

FORD / Ford

Ford responded to the launch of the Volkswagen GTI and GTD twins with the 2019 Ford Focus ST, which comes with a variety of diesel and gasoline engines, in Europe at least.

The gasoline model is powered by a 2.3-liter Eco Boost twin-turbo engine, generating 276 hp at 5500 rpm and 420 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 6 seconds. The Eco-Post comes with Ford's anti-knock technology that brought the performance technologies to the F-150 Raptor and Ford GT.

The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission that can be exchanged for another 7-speed automatic.

While the diesel model is powered by a 2-liter Eco Blue engine, it generates 187 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It is coupled with the two options mentioned above for the transportation system.

Eco Post Focus ST offers a differential gear system to reduce the vehicle's slide off-track and maintain more stability during cornering. On the other hand, the diesel version comes with a torque steering system to reduce sliding off the track when cornering.

The 2019 Ford Focus ST comes with electric steering 15% faster than that of the regular version. It is equipped with driving modes that include slippery / wet, normal and sporty modes. And you can get race / track mode if you choose to get a performance package, which in turn is only available for the Eco Post version, and it also adds launch control system, Mustang engine rotation technology, and red brake discs.

In theory, the new ST looks better than its predecessor. However, as the normal next generation of Fox has been canceled in both the United States and the Middle East, it is highly unlikely that Ford will offer the ST car only in our markets.
